My Trip to Chicago
A couple weeks ago I went on a trip with my dad to Chicago. Here is a summary of what we did.
- Went to a baseball game
- Took a tour of the city
- Went to a museum
- Saw the Bean
These are some of the things I did on my trip.
Day 1: flying in
As soon as we got out of the airport we saw how many people were going to the city. The roads were packed. Luckily our taxi driver didn't like traffic so we took the back roads, which got us there in about 1 hour. We checked into our hotel and started looking for dinner options. We found a sushi place nearby called Sushi San and saw earliest reservation was 9:00 p.m. We took a short walk to a park that had a famous thing in it it called The Bean. I was confused at first until I saw it. It was kinda like a huge mirror.

After that we headed out of the park and down the street to get some ice cream. It took us a while but we found a screen that lets you order in the back. It took us another 15 minutes to get our ice cream, and in that time we got an earlier reservation at the sushi place it was at 8:00 p.m. It was already 7:00pm so we had a long walk, but we eventually made it and started eating some sushi. Then we took a Uber back to our hotel and went to bed.
Day 2: the baseball game
We woke up the next day pretty late (for me) and headed down to breakfast. After that we went on a boat tour called the First Lady. We accidentally went to the wrong line at first, but then the people told us where to go and we went to where our tour actually was. It was a great tour we saw lots of cool stuff. It was focused on Architecture.

After that we took an Uber to the Chicago Cubs stadium. The Mariners were in town and they started off great. Cal Raleigh who is currently on pace for the most homeruns for an AL player in a single season started things of with a solo homerun. This made him tied for the most homeruns by a catcher in the month of June. Next the Cubs got back by plating three in the bottom of the first. Nothing happened for a couple of innings until Donavan Solano hit a RBI single to make the score 3-2 Cubs. Then a Cubs player hit a homerun to make the score 4-2. The Mariners came charging right back with a 2-run homerun by Mitch Garver and a record setting 2-run home run by Cal Raleigh. The Mariners took control the rest of the game. Mitch Garver hit his second homerun of the game to make it a blowout win 9-4 Mariners.

When we came back to our hotel we stayed there for a bit until we took a long walk to get burgers for dinner along the river. The burger place was called Small Cheval.
Day 3: The museum
On our third day the temperature was supposed to 95 degrees, so we went to a bunch of indoor places. We started off the day going to the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, which was the best museum ever. Just look at the weather exhibit

After doing everything in the weather exhibit we went to a different area all about transporation. They talked about the railroad and since it ended in Seattle they had a cool section of Seattle.

Next we went to the coal mine. The exhibit was over 90 years old but still cool. You go down into the mines and explore. We went all around. It was awesome. After that we went to the mirror maze. You start and then go through a bunch of mirrors. I slammed into a couple. It took us a bit, but we finally got out of the maze.

Then we went to our final exhibit of the day, the ocean one. You go into a room and the whole room is a TV. Then you watch a short movie before leaving.

After going to the museum we hopped into an Uber and headed to a place that was famous for something that was called Italian Beef. We ate there before catching the baseball game on TV. It was really hot that day and I guess the baseball players were feeling it too. The Homeplate umpire passed out and, so did mariners RHP Trent Throton. Cal Raleigh hit another homerun.

This one was his 30th of the season. Then we went to a place where you play ping-pong. My dad is actually pretty good and he beat me in matches 4-2 each match was 1st to 11 win by two. The Mariners lost 10-7. After that we went to dinner at a Korean BBQ place called Perilla Fare. We chowed down and since it was close to my birthday we had a small celebration

The next day we woke up headed out for Mexico to start a whole new adventure.
