My 10 Day Trip to Japan

Recently I went to Japan for spring break. The cities I visited were Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nara.

Tokyo

In Tokyo, we visited the Tokyo Skytree. It is the world's tallest tower. It was so tall it was in the clouds.

Another place we visited was the Pokemon Cafe. It was so hard to get into that we had to make a reservation at 12 midnight a month in advance. At the cafe, you can get all sorts of food and drinks that look like Pokemon characters. For example, this is a Gengar drink my dad got.

There were other drinks too. I got a Furcoco drink and my mom got an Eevee drink. At the Pokemon cafe, we saw a giant Pikachu that walked and danced. It was a little fat, but who cares? After the cafe we went to the biggest Pokemon store in the world. There was a stuffy for even the most random Pokemon characters. I ended up buying a Rayquaza stuffy.

In Japan, I also ate a lot of sushi. One time, I ate 15 pieces of nigiri, the most I had ever eaten in one meal. I ate over 50 pieces during my whole trip. If you don't know sushi is my favorite food, I eat a lot of it. I had the best sushi I had ever had in my life in Japan. It was super good. I also went to 3 ramen places. I thought the first one I went to was the best. I also tried a new food called soba. It is just cold noodles that you dip in sauce. It sounds weird but it is delicious.

In Tokyo, we also went to a place called Borderless. It is this artsy place where you see all these pretty and amazing things. Some of them are even interactive. For example, there was a wall that you could put your hand through. One of my favorite things was where you make a drawing and then they scan the drawing into a giant screen with a lot of underwater creatures. If you have seen me at school you might have seen my giant squid hat. This drawing was based on the hat.

That wasn't it though. There were many other different rooms with cool features. Here is what they look like.

I also went to the Disney adventure park called DisneySea. We started with a ride called Journey to the Center of the Earth. You go through a tunnel and see things like plants and monsters. There is a giant drop at the end so if you ever ride this be ready for it. For me the end was scary but everything else was awesome.

I went on 17 rides in total. There was a whole area just for the Little Mermaid. That was where my sister did a lot of her rides, but her favorite was in a different place. Her favorite ride was called Soaring, where you fly in front of a screen that shows different parts of the world. There is a breeze and even smells based on where you are. When you are in India, for example, you smell chai. In the African savannah you smell grass.

Another ride that I went on was called the Tower of Terror. You go into an elevator, climb all the way to the top and then fall. Halfway through your fall, you stop, go up again, and then fall yet again. You keep doing this until you hit the bottom. This ride was very intense but I liked it.

While Tower of Terror was a lot of fun, my absolute favorite ride had to be the Indiana Jones ride. You get into a van at the start of the ride. As you drive, you almost get hit by the Crystal skull. Then you see snakes, dodge arrows, cross rope bridges and almost get hit by a giant boulder. It was my favorite ride by far. I went on it twice!

In Japan, I also played a lot of Pokemon Go. There are so many players in Tokyo. While there, I did five 5-star raids and caught three Kartana. I also caught a shiny Tapu Bulu, but this was in Kyoto, so I will save that picture for later.

Kyoto

From Tokyo, we took a 2-hour bullet train to Kyoto. It is the fastest train in the world. When we got to our hotel we watched some TV then went to Nishiki Market. It had so many different foods. I got 2 delicious beef skewers and an ice cream. After that we walked to dinner where we had some of the best Hamachi (Yellow tail) that I had ever had. Then on the next day, we went to the bamboo forest. It had so much Bamboo in it.

After returning from the bamboo forest, I caught a shiny Tapu Bulu in Pokemon Go.

Nara

From Kyoto, we went to Nara for a day. In Nara, we went to a famous deer park packed with cute little deer. We also saw some huge temples. The biggest of all was the Tōdai-ji temple. Inside there was a couple giant statues of the Buddha. This temple was until recently the tallest wooden building in the world. The Buddha statue is the biggest in Japan. Everything in the temple was huge.

Around the temple was the deer park. At small stores located around the park you can buy crackers for the deer. The deer were very hungry. When a deer approached it would try to eat every single cracker you had. In about a minute you were out of crackers and ended up buying some more. The deer were smart, so they would wait right next to the store. When someone grabbed crackers they would come over and just chow down. In the deer park we had a tour guide named Maki from Chris Rowthorn tours. She is a Kyoto native and was a very nice and good tour guide. She even taught me and my sister to count to ten in Japanese.

The day after Nara, we got back on the bullet train and took it all the way to Narita airport where we flew back home.

All in all, this was an awesome trip. Japan is one of my favorite places in the world. It has good food and a lot of fun places to visit. This was my second trip to Japan and I hope to go back soon.
